A well set-up hi-fi system can deliver immense musical pleasure. Setting up such a system need not be an expensive affair, and some careful thought and planning will be able to get you a system that will give you satisfaction for years to come.

Unfortunately hi-fi newbies are often surprised to find out that the world of hi-fi is not as straightforward as they would like. One can't just step into a store, put down some money, choose a system that looks nice and expect the system to sound like magic at home.

Mixing and matching hi-fi components from different manufacturers is a common practice amongst enthusiasts and for good reason. Few manufacturers produce complete systems while many others prefer to specialise in areas which they are good in, be that producing electronics or speakers.

The purposes of these pages is to share with you some of my experiences so far as well as to provide you enough information as a starting point in this journey.
