NEW SCHUNK GRIPPER -
KGG 80
Small component gripper with large stroke type KGG 80
The "PRO" in assembly applications
State of the art assembly operations require state of the art grippers. To maintain its grip on the technological development in the handling of small components, Fritz Schunk GmbH & Co KG recently introduced its new pneumatic 2-Finger-Parallel gripper type KGG 80. This unique gripper with a total weight of 240 g offers a 30mm stroke, rendering it ideal for small robots.
Its compact design of 94mm x 51mm x 36mm enables it to be used in tight work spaces. The gripping force of 20N to 80N, can be set to suit particular applications (gentile or rigid gripping) by adjusting the air pressure. The gripper fingers are precision guided and synchronized by a rack and pinion gear.
Additional accessories offered by Schunk are blank gripper fingers, proximity switches, and positioning sensors.

FUNDO
- STATE OF THE ART POSITIONING & CLAMPING FASTENER
FUNDO - Hydraulic positioning and clamping device
FUNDO - Positioning and clamping accomplished with the same motion
or
FUNDO - Clamped and positioned
Fritz Schunk GmbH & Co KG will be offering a complete program of hydraulic speed accurate positioning and clamping devices that will reduce set-up time.
The need of a faster positioning and clamping device was requested by the Schunk GmbH production department to minimize set-up time on its state of the art machining centers, a common factor in the manufacturing industry.
The technology of various positioning and clamping components has not evolved over the past few years. For example, the primary types of positioning and locating devices for fixtures are still shoulder screws and clamping brackets that require tedious and time consuming alignment, resulting in excessive down time.
These factors led to the development of the FUNDO.
The FUNDO's principle of function is based on hydraulic expansion technology. A technology that is proven over the past 20 years. The FUNDO system is a simple one step operation once the sub-plate and fixtures have been made. A coordinate ground bore with a threaded pocket hole is machined in to a sub-plate or machine table. The same diameter hole is coordinate ground into the fixture. The FUNDO is then simply inserted through both holes and screwed down with a couple of turns via an Allen wrench until snug. During the axial locking process via the FUNDO's threads, the body simultaneously expands and positions the bores center axis to each other.
This system drastically reduces set-up time to within seconds and allows you to exclude any time consuming alignment. The systems repeatability is an awesome £ 0.003mm. Further advantages are ease of use, high clamping forces and low investment cost.
The FUNDO program can be used in numerous applications. It can be used to position and locate robots, fixtures, sub-plates, molds, work-holding systems, assemblies, etc.
The program is available in various clamping diameters and clamping combinations and was based of the DIN (DIN= German Industrial Standard) standard shoulder bolts.
The FUNDO is also used as the main positioning and locking element for the new KONTEC, a modular clamping system that incorporates tool clamping units, fixtures, interchangeable plates, and corresponding base plates.
