Lions Befrienders Association will spearhead a massive island-wide
spring cleaning and painting of 1000
homes of befriendees. The project is estimated to take at least 3 years

The project was launched on March 16, 1997 at the Jalan Besar Community Centre by the Minister of Labour Dr. Lee Boon Yang.
Through this project, The lions Befrienders Association aims to enrich and brighten the lives of our lonely elderly. While give our young an opportunity to visit the homes of these elderly folks to experience at first hand the living conditions of some of the elderly citizens.
The paint is donated by ICI Paints(Singapore) Pte Ltd while the painters and cleaners are volunteer students, Leo and others.The painting are to be done during school holidays. About 180 t o200 volunteers will visit the homes of Befriendees constituency in teams of 4-5 per home.
